Money says 'no'. Money is broken. Keeps saying 'no' to everything sensible, and 'yes' to lots of stupid things.

Money, Systems thinking
  1. There are 2,470,000 people unemployed in the UK.
  2. There is an energy supply crisis.
  3. We know how to insulate houses, make solar panels, wind farms, community heating systems, and so on.

So on the one hand we have a major problem, and on the other we have a major solution. And yet we have an economic system which has not reconciled these two things.

How can this be? How much clearer can it be that the economic system, and more specifically money and its current incarnation, is no longer fit for purpose?

Remember, we created this economic system, and it only exists because we believe it to exist. Take a step back. There is no resource issue. There is no time issue. There is no skills issue. There is only a “computer says no” issue of using a badly constructed system of accounting.

God damn it.
