The best way to survive the 21st century is together. The way we do things today does not need to be, nor can it be, the way we do things tomorrow.

We are now a 3 party country

John Humphries, Today, Radio 4

We have been a 3 party country all my life. More than that, in fact. The media has failed to represent this truth fairly and is now acting surprised like it’s not their fault that the LibDems haven’t been taken seriously.

When people are directly presented with what they say, and can compare it with the other parties on like-for-like terms, they can make their own decisions.

It turns out that you’re all a lot more reasonable and progressive than your media companies think you are.

Have you seen the BBC website with its election seat calculator? Very interesting and easy to see why they call the UK a 2 party country on that basis. even if Labour trail 3rd in the polls they can still win! It’s not fair. And you have to vote for your MP rather than the leading party. Well our local MP is Tory and he’s by far the best of the bunch, but therefore I can’t vote for a different Government. So our electoral system needs reform (as everyone has been saying for years) but I think this debacle might actually see it happen – sooner rather than later?
